Opera Company of Middlebury seeks a Part-Time Development Director to lead contributed revenue efforts for a mission-driven professional opera company.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading multiple fundraising programs, including Annual Fund, Membership Campaign, Major Gifts, Business Sponsorships, and special appeals

  • Leading grant research and applications

  • Cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors and sponsors

  • Supporting Board members in fundraising activities

  • Managing donor records, acknowledgements, and reports

  • Collaborating with leadership on fundraising strategy and messaging

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years nonprofit fundraising experience (arts preferred)

  • Grant writing and sponsorship experience 

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently in a small organization

  • Ability to attend some evening or weekend events

  • Passion for the performing arts

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.

OCM grants auditions for principal roles to professional opera singers on an invitation-only basis. The artist's management should email Artistic Director Douglas Anderson with requests for an audition.
