Our Fall Festival's cornerstone event, Rappahannock County is an operatic tapestry of stories from the American Civil War, with music by renowned composer Ricky Ian Gordon and a libretto by Pulitzer Prize-winner Mark Campbell. Premiered in 2011 and inspired by diaries, letters and firsthand accounts, this moving work gives voice to soldiers, enslaved people, families, and civilians whose lives were forever changed by the nation's defining conflict.
