Brooke Quiggins
Violinist Brooke Quiggins has distinguished herself as a dynamic and versatile performer across classical, contemporary, and popular music. She currently serves as Assistant Principal Second Violin of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra and performs with the VSO’s Jukebox Quartet and TURNMusic. Her orchestral career includes principal positions with the Miami Symphony, Reading Symphony, and Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas. Brooke can be heard on Sony Classical, Naxos, Columbia Records, Blue Note, and Universal, and has performed with artists including Aretha Franklin, John Legend, Sufjan Stevens, Young the Giant, and Grace Potter. She holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Manhattan School of Music.
Stefanie Taylor
Stefanie Taylor is violist of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra and Opera Company of Middlebury, and violist of the Juke Box Quartet. She has performed regionally with the Craftsbury Chamber Players, Taconic Chamber Players, Vermont Virtuosi, Williams Chamber Players, Manchester Music Festival, and Capital City Concerts. During twenty years in New York, Stefanie performed regularly with the New York Philharmonic, as guest principal violist of the American Symphony, in ensembles including the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and was assistant principal violist of the Long Island Philharmonic. A graduate of Indiana University and Stony Brook University, Stefanie is an Affiliate Artist at Middlebury College and at VTSU Castleton.
Joana Genova
Bulgarian-born violinist Joana Genova has built a diverse career as a chamber and orchestral musician, soloist, recitalist, and teacher. Joana is co-artistic director of Taconic Music, second violinist of The Indianapolis Quartet and performs as a guest musician at venues throughout United States and Europe. She serves as Artist Associate at Williams College and Violin Instructor at Bennington College. A graduate of the National School of Music and Dance in Plovdiv, where she made her solo debut at age 12 with the Plovdiv Chamber Orchestra, Joana is a top prizewinner of Bulgaria’s National Competition. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and her master’s at the Rotterdam Conservatory in The Netherlands. Joana performs on a Johannes Cuypers violin made in The Hague in 1786.
John Dunlop
Raised in Burlington, John Dunlop received degrees from Oberlin College and the San Francisco Conservatory before returning to join the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, where he has played as principal cellist for over twenty years. In 2021, he premiered a new concerto written for him by Syrian-Canadian composer Suad Bushnaq. As a founding member of the VSO Jukebox Quartet, Skylark Quartet and the TURN ensemble, John has been an advocate for new music and performs classical and contemporary music in unconventional venues. Dunlop has also performed with the Burlington Chamber Orchestra, Eleva Chamber Players, Opera North, Opera Company of Middlebury, and Green Mountain Opera. John maintains a private studio in Richmond, Vermont, where he has trained many conservatory-bound students.
